About Hotel Si Como No:
The hotel is really pretty and everyone at the hotel speaks English (except maybe some of the musicians that play in the eateries). There is one informal restaurant that has mostly local and American food. There is also a more formal one which has local and Italian dishes. There is a snack bar near the adult-only pool that is only open during the day.
You can take the (free) hotel bus to the beach or Manual Antonio National Park. You can take tours of the park or tour a private preserve across the street from the hotel to see the wildlife. Or just hang out on your balcony (especially if you have one of the rooms that is lower down over the forest canopy).
Or take the municipal bus into Quepos (pronounced Kay-Poes) for some shopping. This municipal bus costs the local equivalent of about 20¢ American (105 Colones when we went). Get off when you get to the bus station.
Be prepared to take a cab back to the hotel, however, if you don’t speak a little Spanish. The bus that goes back to the hotel is labeled "Manuel Antonio," but you pay the fare according to how far you are going, so you have to talk to the driver a little. If you can say, "Yo quero ir al Hotel Si Como No" then you have it made. Just listen for the driver to announce the stop and get off a little past the hotel sign.
The only draw-back is that the hotel is all up-and-down. It is built on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The hotel does have many pretty resting areas and lots of benches to sit on if you need a rest from the stairs. They also have ramps all the way from the parking lot down to the main level where most of the rooms are. They have a THX movie theatre, but we were too busy looking at everything to sit down for a couple of hours to watch a movie. I hear that it is really nice. The movies they advertised when we were there were American movies only a few months old.
